About Jake Geiger

I am recent graduate of Kutztown University's Communication Design program, and will received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in May, with a concentration in Illustration with a strong background in Interactive Design. I hold great passion for illustrating whimsical and friendly scenes and characters that can make anyone smile. Currently, I work at Kutztown University’s Rohrbach Library as their Graphic Designer. Throughout my time at this position, I have been in charge of making signage, branding materials, posters, and informative graphics. This has allowed me to really branch into other styles of design that my illustration skills do not always necessarily interact with, overall helping me grow into a stronger, more multifaceted designer. This position has also helped me forge relationships and connect with the community around me, on campus and otherwise.However, my true passion lies in Illustration, and spreading it through the rest of my work. I’m an avid fan of cute animals, so I incorporate them into much of my work. Through illustration, I reconnect with my inner child and show that in pieces featuring whimsical scenes of dancing children, animals, and peaceful environments. My preferred medium of illustration is digital, whether it be via painting on my iPad, or building characters in Adobe Illustrator- but I also love working traditionally with watercolor and ink.Along with this, I am also a UX designer. I have created app prototypes in the past, flexing my design muscles to help and create a streamlined, yet beautiful experience for users. I love to take my illustrative background and incorporate it into app designs, I’m currently looking into junior designer and freelance positions in the Philadelphia and lower Pennsylvania area, and you can find my portfolio on my website at jgeiger.design.
