Background

About Jake Lyda

My name is Jacob Lyda. I have an M.S. in Educational Leadership, and a B.A. in History. I am currently certified in Mathematics (4-8) and Social Studies (7-12). I have 5 years of teaching experience in mathematics, with leadership experience as the campus math lead and the Campus Foundations Committee chair, and 1 year of experience teaching Social Studies. Through my mathematics position I gained experience working with students who have traditionally struggled with math. In Social Studies, I worked with advanced and GT students. My strengths include differentiating instruction to address knowledge gaps, building personal relationships with students who lack academic confidence to motivate them, and integrating technology in the classroom to support student achievement. As a former campus math lead, I have experience building common assessments, working with a team to identify learning gaps through student performance data, and implementing instructional strategies to address learning gaps. I have strong interpersonal skills that allow me to interact well with students, coworkers, and community stakeholders. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with you and discuss how I can help your students succeed. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email. Thank you for your consideration.
