About Jake MacGregor

As a software engineer at Monzo, I work on products that make money work for small businesses. I joined the business banking team in 2021, during a placement year for my degree. I've returned to the team after graduating with a BSc in Computer Science (Industrial) from the University of Leeds with first-class honours. I have experience in a wide range of projects, such as developing new features, enhancing financial crime controls, and improving customer support tooling. I work alongside product managers and designers, using GoLang as my main programming language. I also presented my final-year project on infectious disease modelling at an undergraduate conference, demonstrating my research and communication skills. I am passionate about creating innovative and exciting solutions to customer problems, and focus on clear documentation and feedback. I enjoy collaborating with other engineers and learning constantly. I also value customer service and leadership, which I developed in my previous role as a team leader at KFC. I am always eager to learn new technologies and skills to enhance my performance and contributions.
