As a backend software engineer with a background in APIs, PaaS, and Decisioning, I have a proven record of improving system performance and cultivating effective team dynamics. I develop high-impact software solutions, lead cross-functional projects, and implement cloud-native architectures. Currently, I'm a Software Engineer at Pie Insurance, where I led the integration of an in-house scoring service that offered more competitive rates to customers, boosting system performance by 73% and saving millions in third-party licensing fees. My experience (which has grown into expertise) includes breaking down complex services into efficient TypeScript microservices, adopting Datadog for better deployment confidence and system monitoring, and creating a flexible onboarding framework with LaunchDarkly feature flags. At Alarm.com, I played a key role as the tech lead for launching several new camera series in partnership with ADT Security. I developed high-throughput REST APIs used by more than 2m daily users, created tools for customized firmware rollout schedules, and streamlined/codified integration processes. I hold a B.S. in Computer Science with a Minor in Applied Mathematics from the University of Virginia.
