About Jake Matthews

I am a professional consultant ecologist and associate member of CIEEM (ACIEEM), with a demonstrable range of ecological experience and skills gained from over 5 years in ecological consultancy. I am skilled in project management and able to lead on a range of species surveys and ecological reports. In my current role I communicate and effectively advise clients to provide appropriate, robust and up to date ecological advice within the planning process. I have experience providing a range of ecological reports, such as Biodiversity Net Gain, AA screening / NIS, species survey reports, and EcIA / EIAR biodiversity chapters. I am passionate about fieldwork and enjoy mentoring and sharing my field skills with junior staff. I am a skilled surveyor, with particular strengths with birds and bats. Although I am capable with many other fauna surveys as well as habitat surveying (Fossit / UKHabs / JNCC Phase 1), and BNG habitat condition assessments. I hold a Natural England CL17 bat licence.
