I am a Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW), with a Diploma in Addiction and Mental Health, and is an Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (AEMCA)[Paramedic] with a Diploma in Paramedicine. I am a leader in the fields of emergency medical services, community mental health and crisis care, recognized for bridging medical, harm reduction, and social supports in crisis environments. I began my career as a Paramedic (AEMCA) and prehospital research appraiser, later honing my frontline expertise at Toronto’s Safe Consumption Sites, where I championed harm reduction strategies for individuals most at risk. As a Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW), I provided specialized mental health and crisis response training to a diverse range of organizations, empowering them to face the twin challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the escalating drug poisoning crisis. My dedication to community well-being has taken me from roles as a mental health case manager to a mobile crisis worker with the Toronto Community Crisis Service (TCCS), and finally to a Safety Specialist with the Toronto Public Library—demonstrating my unwavering commitment to creating safer, more resilient communities.
