About Jake Mortimer

In August 2023 I started my financial planning journey with Fowler Financial Planning. A big change from my previous roles, but a challenge that invigorates and inspires me. My grandfather started his career in the financial industry and then moved to horticulture where he led a successful multinational business from its HQ in Kenya. The prosperity he found in moving from one industry to another was one of my inspirations to make the leap into this new career. Growing up in Kenya has given me enormous respect for the disparity of wealth across the globe, and I hope to one day be able to make a difference in people’s lives, by allowing them to live more comfortably and confidently. Although my story in financial services has just begun, my goal is to become a financial planner in the next few years. I am currently in the administration team, learning the valuable base skills that will prove immensely helpful in my journey through paraplanning and eventually to advising. It’s fulfilling to interact with clients, whether that be booking in review meetings or assisting them with queries, helping people has always been important to me.
