I am a proven Hospitality Management Leader with outstanding team building, communications and organizational skills. I easily identify and resolve communications and team breakdowns with solutions that then seem easy. • I was hired as an Event Operations Manager specifically to change the company culture from within and to elevate the level of service in event operations. Through intense modelling of event service expertise and seeking further self-assigned development, I was recognized by the Knife & Fork Club of Houston and La Chapitre de Houston, Les Amis d' Escoffier as a master of Escoffier service. I was also recognized by the World Oilmen's Tennis Tounament as providing the best service they had ever had which I attribute to the buy-in of my banquets team, who worked extremely hard to pull off a hugely successful and seamless event during the labor shortage climate that Covid19 had caused. • I overcame two “siloed” teams (sales vs events management) whose productivity was hindered by poor communications, mutual misunderstandings and air of competition; I developed a comprehensive event management check list for smooth client hand-off from sales to event management; I eliminated up to 40 clarification-seeking telephone calls a day as Destination Sales Coordinator. • I built one cohesive team of 26-30 employees representing front desk, concierge, runners and room service wait staff by leading with open communications, morale building programs, performance recognition and instilling a sense of one coherent team earning Host of the Month recognition as Guest Experience Expert. • Upon appointment to hotel Events Manager, I developed inexperienced staff, established goals and expectations, improved communications and systems to generate an increase in event satisfaction score from 85% to 97%, highest in Marriott’s western region for Q1 2020 pre-pandemic. • As Guest Experience Expert, I had one well-managed customer relationship which ultimately resulted in a corporate donation to Hurricane Harvey relief and a team of volunteers.
