Background

About Jake Pennington

I am an organized, team-oriented professional with a background in athletics, administrative support, and student development. Currently, I serve as the Assistant Baseball Coach at Parkland College, where I help lead and develop a talented group of student-athletes—on and off the field. I bring energy, structure, and purpose to the program while contributing to recruiting, skill development, and day-to-day operations. Before joining Parkland, I worked as an Administrative Assistant, managing complex scheduling, communications, and operational logistics in a fast-paced environment. My ability to stay detail-focused while building strong relationships allowed me to support leaders and teams effectively. As a former five-year collegiate baseball player—competing at the University of Nebraska Omaha, Sinclair Community College, and Tarleton State University (where I earned my Master’s in Sports Administration)—I developed a strong work ethic, discipline, and a team-first mindset. These qualities continue to guide me as a coach, mentor, and professional. I’m passionate about being part of organizations where I can combine my skills in communication, leadership, and organization to support individual and team success. Whether I’m helping athletes grow on the field or assisting others in reaching their goals, I’m driven by a commitment to excellence and a greater mission. Let’s connect!
