Taking ownership of your choices is the ultimate way to reinvent yourself. That also means, making the choice to slow down before you hit burnout. I’d like to consider myself the person that calls bullshit on the traditional ways of thinking when it comes to wellbeing in the workplace. More specifically, I’m the one that works within a niche that is usually an afterthought within a business, or a mere 5-minute ‘tick the box’ process. The traditional way of “here is a mental health seminar” or “don’t forget to take some time off” needs to end. Luckily, I’m working on changing that mentality. I work as the Global Wellbeing Manager at Netflix, but I’m also here to help evolve what wellbeing & resilience in the workplace means on a larger scale. My mission is to look at wellbeing as the first port of call in the workplace and in doing so take individuals and companies on a journey rooted in individual accountability and systemic evolution. The traditional ways of doing things are gone; we’re not here to live a life of purely existing paycheque to paycheque, but one of reigniting a new lease of life in the workplace for both leader and employee. With a clinical background, I see wellbeing as no longer just nods of approval, but changing the perspectives of others, creating lifelong learners and driving business impact at the same time.
