Hi! My name is Jake Sirlin and I'm a PhD Candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing my PhD in Inorganic Chemistry. To me, chemistry has transformed from a childhood interest to a passion for discovery. This passion is what drives me to pursue a future in research, to discover and contribute back to the scientific community. As an graduate research assistant, I work in the Gerald Meyer group to better understand the effects of electric fields induced by chromophores bound to semiconductor surfaces through stark spectroscopy. Along with this, I am an active graduate research assistant working with the Center for Hybrid Approaches in Solar Energy to Liquid Fuels (CHASE), a DOE Energy Innovation Hub.
