Don't be afraid to give up the good and go for great"- Steve Prefontaine In 2007 as a junior in high school, I started my first serious job in manufacturing. It wasn't much, I was sweeping the floor and cleaning out machines at a local manufacturing plant. In 2008 I worked my way up to running lathes and mills and thought this would be my career. Then, like most companies at that time, they were forced to layoff a good amount of the workforce. I would spend the next 2 years working at different manufacturing and assembly plants for temp positions. After realizing this wasn't a winning formula, I decided it was time to chase my dream. I moved to Nashville, TN to go to school for audio engineering and music business and try to make it in music. Failed. I moved back to Indiana and landed a job in sales at a major music retailer. Not exactly the plan, but close enough. I spent 3 years grinding it out, making 100+ calls a day, and developing sales skills. It was good, but not great. I got a phone call one day from the company I was sweeping the floor at years prior. They were looking for a salesperson. So, back to manufacturing! I've spent the last 10 years in industrial sales working with manufacturing companies all over the US. Providing different solutions from tooling to machine tools to software. I have come to love this industry and all of the opportunities that exist within it. My mission is to help in any way I can, to push the manufacturing industry to GREAT not good.
