About Jakera Smith

Welcome! I am an 8 year certified educator. My career started in Pensacola, Florida in 2010 with the Escambia County School District. ECSD has left a lifelong impression in my career. During my time with ECSD, I served on numerous committees and served as a district representative for my campus. I had the pleasure of serving and writing on the School Improvement Plan team. As a team we created a school improvement plan to present on the district and state level of education. Later on, I worked with the Florida Department of Education to turnaround an at risk school. This experience lead me to become the Science District Rep. for my school. I attended trainings and professional development to help our school improve our Science scores throughout the school year. My additional training includes, data analysis, educational technology, classroom management, positive behavior support, Kagan, Orton-Gillingham, response to intervention, unpacking state standards, mentoring, social media marketing, MTSS, consulting, product creation, etc. In 2015, I received my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. In this field I seek to research, develop, and implement curriculum changes that increase student achievement within and outside the school. I focus on how students learn and the best ways to educate. After eight years of teaching in the classroom, I will begin my journey as an Educational Consultant. I look forward to helping others enhance their educational experiences.
