The 10+ years I spent creating and promoting musical projects was preparation for my second act as a marketer at a performing arts center. Despite the obvious difference between a career on the stage vs. promoting art behind the curtain, it was their commonality that kept me orbiting around the world of performing arts."I wear many hats as a marketer, from glamourous showstoppers to hardhats" A seamless opening night is the pinnacle achievement in my world, but the real fun is the work that happens behind the scenes. During the production phase of any project or program, I get to explore all my creative cavities to harvest ideas that best fit the opportunity. Then collaborate with brilliant colleagues on crafting the best approach to making magic come to life. “Can I get an encore, do you want more.” The moment I experienced the euphoric feeling of connecting with community members through the shared love of art, was the moment I found my calling. My career grants me the privilege to create programs and promote projects that cultivate opportunities for community members to look beyond superficial differences and discover an intrinsic fellowship with their neighbor.
