Vaccines and antibodies have long been a huge part of our lives, but they've truly never been more top of mind than they have been in the last few years. I have an interest in vaccine development and testing, particularly with a focus on the humoral response to vaccination I received my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology from University of Tennessee, Knoxville before coming to the NIH to do my dissertation research at the NIAID Vaccine Research Center (in partnership with George Washington University). My dissertation research focuses on the Isolation of HIV neutralizing antibodies, generally in animal models. In that research, I’ve developed a technique of immortalizing those B cells for detailed study, and I’ve isolated several neutralizing antibodies from infected and vaccinated animals.
