About Jaline Contreras

As a recent graduate from the University at Albany, where I received my Bachelors degree in Sociology with a double concentration in Criminal Justice and Social Welfare, a few of my passions are advocating for social justice and welfare issues. These topics are incredibly important to me because I am a first generation student and helping a community in need is where I thrive. Throughout my time in university, I volunteered in a variety of organizations and programs. As well as, interning and holding positions in organizations that provide resources and spread awareness on current social issues. Mostly recently, I have been developing my skills as a Advocate and Counselor. I thrive stepping into new work environments and getting to know people from different backgrounds. I have developed skills such as project planning, strategic planning, client management & retention, and phone/communication skills. Also, being very well versed in MS Excel, Google PowerPoint, Google Docs. I am bilingual in both English and Spanish. This skill has tremendously helped me connect with a wider reach of customers and patients to better connect them to resources. I am very resourceful, I work well in high pressure environments, and I don't shy away from a challenge
