About Jamarr Brown
Jamarr Brown is a seasoned nonprofit executive, political strategist and advocate for justice-driven policy change. As the Executive Director of Color Of Change PAC, he leads efforts to support candidates committed to transformative change, with a strong focus on criminal and economic justice, and holding elected officials accountable. Jamarr’s passion for advocacy began at 15 when he fought for his mother’s healthcare access after her cancer diagnosis. In college, he led his NAACP chapter, served as Student Senate President, and interned for the Congressional Black Caucus and the Democratic National Committee. He went on to make history as the first Black Executive Director of the Texas Democratic Party, overseeing political strategy, fundraising, and voter outreach. Under his leadership, the party expanded voter protection efforts, flipped key legislative and county seats, and elected two candidates of color to Congress, U.S. Rep. Greg Casar and U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett. Previously, Jamarr served as Director of Civic Engagement at re:power, National Training Director for Tom Steyer’s presidential campaign, and Organizing & Training Director for Planned Parenthood Texas Votes. His expertise in movement-building and political strategy has earned him recognition in national and state media, including CNN International, The Grio, Axios, Associated Press, Reuters, Capital Tonight, and Areva Martin in Real Time. A Charleston, South Carolina native, Jamarr earned a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Clemson University. He serves as Board Chair of Provide, Inc. and has held leadership roles with Leadership Austin and the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce.
