About James Barnes

I joined Bowman Riley in July 2015 following the completion of my Masters of Architecture at the University of Huddersfield where I achieved a Distinction. Before working at Bowman Riley, I had a design and management role within my family’s construction business. I am conscientious and a keen problem solver, I apply my analytical skills to the architectural environment making the best use of available space. As a job running architect I am comfortable in taking a scheme from concept to completion, I also assist junior staff members in their development along their architectural journey. I am competent working in a range of software including AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up and Photoshop. Whilst at university, I spent a summer volunteering in Nepal. During this time, I worked in a school for children with disabilities using my practical skills to help repair the school building. I also helped the children learn English.
