His security management experience began at the former Compaq Computers in where he managed the campus’ preparation for Y2K. As he managed contractors to support his many roles he continually saw the need for greater customer service within the industry. It was out of that need in 2006, that James formed Security & Cabling Solutions, Inc.(SCS). He started the company out of his garage with three employees; growing it to twenty employees operating out of a ten thousand square foot building today. In 2012, James and his wife Corina formed Basurto Family Foundation, LLC (BFF) to manage their purchase of commercial property in San Jose. It was their hope that the new company would add to their family legacy and provide finances to create scholarship donations to high school seniors in the area. In 2013, BFF honored two scholarships for high school students of employees at SCS. It is James’ dream to expand this program to promote technical excellence of young people in the Bay Area as hope to provide future workers for SCS. In January 2021, SCS open its operations in Fort Worth, TX to service the DFW area; and hope to expand more locations in the future. In 2022, SCS California merged with HCI Systems and closed as a Corporation in California. James was born and raised in San Jose, California and has been determined to remain in the area to continue giving back to his community, along with his wife, four children and seven grandchildren. James started his family at a young age and continued to work hard to build a legacy in the San Jose area to build on a foundation that his grandparents set down before him. James attributes his success not only within SCS, but with his family legacy to his relationship with God and the foundation of integrity that he leads his life.
