Jim Baxter founded Baxter Construction 1981 with one goal: deliver superior results through thoughtful planning and attention to detail. True to his aim, Jim has been delivering quality renovation and building services to Central New Jersey ever since. In order to keep its quality high, Baxter Construction keeps is geographic reach modest. Serving a 30-mile radius of Hopewell has led Baxter Construction to know intimately the area’s character and aesthetic. That focus over the past 34 years has led Baxter Construction to become renowned for its workmanship and trusted with some of the most delicate and prestigious renovation jobs in the area, including the award-winning remodel of the Woodrow Wilson House, in Princeton. Jim remains fascinated by all things having to do with building, so he does not limit himself to one type of job. From replacing a doorknob to $6 million projects, Jim makes sure Baxter Construction is constantly evolving. Recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as a Certified Graduate Remodeler, Certified Green Professional and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, Jim’s constant drive to learn and grow has resulted in a responsible business that goes above and beyond the norm. From the beginning, he focused heavily on energy-efficiency, sustainability, and environmentally friendly methods and materials after being inspired by the work he did in the late 70s with Princeton Energy Group. Jim has won awards for his work in LEED Certified green construction and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. His certification in Aging-in-Place has allowed him to expand his Universal Design offerings as UD becomes increasingly important in building efficient, comfortable homes.
