In 2016 I began working for Best Buy Canada as a Part-Time Computer Sales Associate, and 3 months later I was asked to go Full-Time. I took on many different roles with my time at Best Buy. I moved from Computer Sales into Customer Service which taught me valuable people skills. I learned to de-escalate situations with customers, back-end processing, and the best way to support sales staff. Then a new opportunity arrived in our Mobility Department. They were looking to fill a Leadership role named Mobile Senior Advisor. At this point, I had already been involved in the Mobility Department selling Mobile Phones and helping customers find the right products that fit their lifestyles. After about a month of showcasing what I could achieve in the department, they offered me the position. Mobile Sales has been by far the most fun I've had in the technology sales industry. After holding Mobile Senior Advisor for a year, my Store Leader approached me, and wanted myself and another leader in Customer Service to switch roles. My Store Leader wanted the skills I had in both sales and customer service to combine in a new Leadership Role named Senior Admin Specialist. As Senior Admin Specialist, I took on the same responsibilities of a Customer Service Specialist but added leadership elements to it. I was to look over my team, provide feedback and support as best to my ability. I was also the first line of defense when it came to hiring. I would need to conduct phone interviews and pass them along to the Team Leaders in the various Departments. After sitting in the role of Senior Admin Specialist for 2 years, my Store Leader approached me again about another opportunity that was vastly different from what I had done previously in the store. The role they asked me to take was what they call Field Technician. The role comprised of going into clients homes to provide technical support, or installation of various products such as TVs, sound systems, computers etc. As a Field Technician I was responsible for the Van that was provided to go to and from clients homes, to keep the van stocked with all necessary items such as tools, technology products, TV mounts etc. After spending time in the role for nearly 2 years I then moved on to a new opportunity with TELUS. I am currently a Sales Representative for TELUS. As mentioned, Mobility Sales has been incredibly enjoyable for me and I am excited to continue my growth and love for technology with TELUS.
