About James Begeman

I have spent the last 5 years as a Senior Project Coordinator (Project Manager) and Permitting team Manager for HBK Engineering, LLC, leading a team of 4 to obtain construction-based permits with multiple agencies in the greater Chicagoland area. I have much experience in creating client contracts and agreements for multiple underground and aerial fiber optic conduit installation projects, defining scope, project budgets, deliverables and timelines. I am the permitting lead for the Crosstown Fiber project, delivering 5G internet to all Chicago Public Schools, saving the client $1.3+ million as a result of relationships I've built with the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), negotiating degradation fees. I am also proud to be a founding member of Empower - HBK Engineering’s LGBTQ+ ERG, serving board as the Marketing Chair, presenting to executive leadership to acquire funding, and partnering with other companies in the construction industry. In the roll I had at my previous company, I spent 5 years managing the scheduling, production and distribution of thermographic inspections and reports to 100+ domestic and international clients for leading electrical loss prevention company Infrared Testing, Inc. I was responsible creating and modifying domestic schedules of 14 field technicians, presenting optimized travel cost analysis to executive leadership. Complementary to a strong work ethic, my creative background helps incorporate a fresh perspective to projects. I am also a talented and passionate artist with 14 years experience in graphic design and illustration. My main focus is to deliver an effective, focused, and on-target product that fits my clients needs and goals. I am a working professional, experienced in fast-paced environments. Strong project management, technical, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ethical, trustworthy and committed to great service. Detail-oriented and resourceful in completing projects.
