About James Beier

I have always held positions in technology since 1981, starting with the Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. After the Navy I went back home to go to University. A few years later, I graduated from the University of Illinois' Industrial Engineering Dept. My first position after college was with Bruker Instruments as a Field Engineer installing and servicing NMR systems. After 5 years, I was asked to lead Bruker's MRI Service and Installation team. I held that position for 5 years. Later, I accepted a role with GE Healthcare. Initially, I was placed in a role of a systems engineer. Shortly thereafter I was asked to lead the Magnet and Gradients Install Base group headquartered out of Florence. 6 1/2 years later I was approached to lead the Service group for Sumitomo Cryogenics. The office in Chicago is responsible for refurbishing all the cryogenic equipment used by all OEM MRI vendors in North and South America. I manage this P&L along with a National Field Service team that services the cryogenic systems for our OEM partners.
