About James Callahan

I believe in local news. I've been an 'adjustible wrench' for many positions in the newspaper industry over the years from supervising reporters to editing to reporting. In the last few years, I've added social media responsibilities to these skills. I am looking to continue my career in the news industry. I'm currently working part-time at my old shop where I worked full-time for a number of years. I am an experienced news editor and reporter. My duties have included updating the newspaper website, training and supervising reporters, and reporting. As a reporter I am a generalist with many years of politics and government reporting. I've tried to be a thoughtful commentator on local affairs when given the opportunity. I believe in transmitting those values to young people. I am acquainted with most aspects of the newspaper publishing industry. Know a good photograph. I know make-up and design. I know Quark. I am used to working on deadline, and handling the unexpected.
