Background

About James Callender

I’m a junior software engineer and computer science student with hands-on experience building C++ and Python systems across research, embedded software, and machine learning projects. My background includes working on autonomous navigation, reinforcement learning, and perception-related software, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and clean design.I’ve contributed to academic research in adversarial machine learning for autonomous systems, developed cross-platform embedded software in collaborative engineering environments, and built personal projects that apply modern C++ and Python to real problems. I enjoy working close to the system, understanding how components interact and improving them through thoughtful design and testing.I’m currently seeking software engineering internships or junior roles where I can contribute to production code, learn from experienced engineers, and continue growing in areas like systems programming, C++, and performance-critical software.
