ROBUST PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE My practice focuses on patent counseling, acquisition, and exploitation in a wide variety of computer, electrical, and Internet-based technologies. I provide insight for companies and inventors on their patent portfolios, decisions on pursuing patents, validity, infringement, and clearance. I also draft and prosecute patent applications. In addition to securing patents, I have litigated patent cases before several district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission, which equips me with insight into developing and defending portfolios and evaluating third-party patents. My prosecution experience includes managing numerous portfolios, including those of start-ups, growing companies, and publicly-traded consumer companies. I have particularly experienced with inventions relating to semiconductor production, electromagnetic sensors, optics, imaging devices, wired and wireless communication hardware and software, encryption, material science, and computer software. I can also program in assembly, C, C++, Perl, Java, among others. IN-HOUSE INSIGHTS As an in-house counsel, I gained experience in securing, protecting, and monetizing a business’s intellectual property. My work has included evaluating invention disclosures to determine the value of obtaining a patent, drafting and enforcing patent licensing agreements to protect a business’s market share and to defend against patent infringement lawsuits, conducting opposition proceedings in the EPO to validate and invalidate allowed patent applications, and drafting and responding to infringement and invalidity contentions to determine the likelihood of infringement and the value of a portfolio.
