About James Carrow

What I love about biomedical research is that we, as scientists and engineers, can both systematically and creatively pursue unrealized questions and challenges surrounding human health. There are countless ways to address any given problem, and while this freedom can be daunting, it can also manifest truly elegant and unique approaches. Collaboration with a diverse set of voices and perspectives will continue to push biomedical research forward, and I hope to continue to participate in this progress. I have been very fortunate to engage with many projects and researchers over my time in academia, both comprising foundational and translational research. My experiences in regenerative medicine for musculoskeletal and neurological therapies, immunology, genomics, and nanomaterial design have impressed upon me time and again the importance of keeping an open mind and exploring fields outside of my expertise. I am committed to learning new skills to implement within my own work while continuing to impart my knowledge to my colleagues to assist them. It is my belief that my impact within the science community will not be dependent on my own personal success, but the cumulative successes of those I mentor and work with.
