About James Coghill
I have been on faculty at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for over 10 years with a clinical interest in leukemia, lymphoma, and bone marrow transplantation. I have run my own research lab since 2012 with a focus on developing new therapies for acute graft-versus-host disease, an autoimmune-like complication that develops after BMT. I have an interest in early phase drug discovery, and participated in a major high throughput screening effort at UNC to identify small molecule antagonists against CC-Chemokine Receptor 7 (CCR7). This collaboration led to the identification of a potential new treatment for GVHD, and the filing of a provision patent for the compound. We are currently evaluating this lead in preclinical bone marrow transplant model systems. Also with experience in clinical protocol drafting and review.
