About James Cooke

James H. Cooke graduated on the Dean’s Honour Roll from the University of Windsor Law School in 1984. He articled at Fasken’s and was called to the Bar in 1986. Mr. Cooke received his LL.M. from the University of Toronto in 1990. He has practiced litigation in Toronto and then in Windsor as a partner at Wilson Walker/Miller Canfield. In 2005 he was appointed University Counsel at the University of Windsor. In 2009 he joined Ducharme Fox LLP and became a partner in 2013. Mr. Cooke re-joined Miller Canfield as Senior Counsel on August 1, 2017. Mr. Cooke practices business and commercial litigation. Mr. Cooke serves the greenhouse industry in Southwestern Ontario representing many of the largest growers in North America with respect to a wide variety of issues specifically related to greenhouse farming in addition to commercial and business disputes. Specialties: Commercial litigation including insolvency. Provides cross-border litigation and dispute resolution support. Canadian legal services for U.S. business. Mr. Cooke provides legal advice and litigation solutions to businesses relating to a wide variety of issues including contracts, collections, land use, shareholder disputes, insolvency issues and government regulation and related disputes.
