Intermetallix provide welding compliance and inspection services in addition to being a specialist in automated wear part surface coatings. Our welding compliance and inspection include the development and facilitation of Weld Procedure Qualifications (PQR's), Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS's) and Welder Qualification Records (WQR's). These services are supported by Weld inspection, project Inspection and Testing Plan development, technical support, third party compliance audits and welder training. Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) surface coating/hardfacing is a metallic coating that can be applied to a multitude of wear components. The PTA technology excels wear component performance by dramatically increasing resistance against abrasion, corrosion and maintaining desired profiles throughout component life. Tungsten Carbide Weld Overlays (TCO) is an alternative overlay product that presents similar benefits to the PTA coating however offers different performance in impact values, application characteristics and price. The process consists of tungsten carbide chips being deposited into a weld metal being applied to the surface of the component in our fully automated welding cell. Both surface coating processes have measurable benefits in enhancing component surfaces without significantly degrading the properties of the base metal resulting in dramatic reductions in component consumption delivering significant cost savings and improved component performance. Through client engagement, research and onsite development Intermetallix offer effective cost saving initiatives with coatings that meet the balance between impact and abrasion whilst ensuring the consistency of a quality product with the repeatability of our fully automated PTA and TCO system.
