James David Sullivan

About James David Sullivan

Currently a junior civil engineering major at the University of Delaware. I have been very active with the American Concrete Institute chapter, which I am president of, that competes in local competitions such as a reinforced concrete beam design. We also compete in national competitions in the fall semester each year. During the summer of 2023, I interned at Verdantas in their field services department. I was responsible for the material testing, mainly concrete cylinders. Also, I got a chance to do compaction testing, structural steel review, and concrete placement review. I have always thrived in leadership positions. I was the Senior Patrol Leader of my Boy Scout troop in my sophomore year of high school. I earned my Eagle Scout Rank in September of 2021. My project was constructing and installing pieces for a walking trail at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. This included benches, a map kiosk, wooden fencing, and a 24' long bridge. In my junior and senior year of High School I was the Instructor for my troop. I love sharing my knowledge with other people and seeing them develop with it.
