About James Deering

Joining the military right out of high school taught me a lot of life lessons. Gaining the ability to pay attention and learn quickly were some of the lessons that came along with that. I worked my way up to Team Leader where I was responsible for multiple personnel and equipment. I gained leadership and trainer skills through my various roles in the military. Shortly after honorably leaving military service, I began my academic adventure where I engaged in classes that not only progressed my degree, but also my skills. Through my time as a Peer Tutor and Student Recruiter, I learned how to utilize Microsoft Suite alongside Microsoft courses I took in college. Additionally, I learned customer service and how to understand people's wants and needs. Joining the Jones Lang LaSalle team tested my skills and abilities at the time, but it was a learning environment. I was given what my boss thought I could handle, and I have proven myself time and time again. I have grown, both professionally and personally. I began with a strong base of skills and abilities that included leadership, effective collaboration, learning, teaching, Microsoft, and administration. Using all of these to become a better employee, I slowly expanded my responsibilities. I began by building reports, conducting audits, audit tracking, vendor management, and assisting members of my team. Today, I am an experienced Operations Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the real estate industry. Skilled in Security Administration, Property Management, Vendor Management, Procurement & Purchase Orders, Finance, Budgeting, Engineering Services, Microsoft Applications, Team Building, Public Speaking, Management, and Leadership.
