About James Devuyst

Equal parts creative and methodical, my passion for making things work, team building, technical experiences, and digital marketing is guided by user/client/customer empathy and driven by actionable insights. Conceptualizing holistic problem-solving strategies and breaking them down into multi-part plans is my jam. Executing those plans across different channels and responding to their respective KPIs is how the work gets done. My career aspirations have taken me to exciting and formative experiences: from an eCommerce startup where I worked on product sourcing, brand development, search engine optimization, and web design; to a Master's degree at Carnegie Mellon University where I capped off my program as a product manager and UX developer for our practicum project; to digital marketing agency life, where I've developed strategy, manage execution, analyze results, and iterate for improvement on behalf of clients across and a variety of industries. I enjoy developing and leading teams of diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, a skill which has been developed from a lifetime of living, working, studying, and traveling across the borders of the Provinces of Canada, States of the USA, and the Prefectures of Japan. I'm an ex-Fry Truck CEO, CMO, and COO; ex-Zamboni driver; ex-Japanese tutor; and ex-Acting major. Currently: A management professional who values the deep dive into how a creative digital marketing company like Chamber Media can profitably grow. When I am not reading about the latest trends in the digital marketing and user experience space, I can be found working on hobbies like genealogy, listening to a variety of podcasts, reading a John Grisham novel, catching up on the latest episode of Master Chef, or playing with my kids.
