About James Dotson

I have 20 years of professional Information Technology experience, working with many different types of technology. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems from California State University Stanislaus in 2002. Since graduating, I have worked in Information Technology departments for two large agencies and I have been a software consultant for another. My most recent position, for the last eight years, has been as the Information Technology Manager with the Vancouver Housing Authority (Vancouver, WA). This position has given me the ability to learn and practice many different technologies and lead teams through several different major projects. I have built relationships with many of my co-workers and while I treasured my time there and will greatly value the skills I learned, my family and I have moved back to Turlock, California to be closer to family. Although my title has been IT Manager, I have been directly involved in all day to day technology activities and a large part of my focus has been supporting all aspects of the ERP, Microsoft SQL server, EDM, and most other systems within the agency. Because of my experience and ability to learn quickly, I believe that I have the skills necessary to be an immediate contributor in many roles to any Information Technology department.
