About James Dozier

James Dozier has worked at the nexus of federal and state advocacy, political organizing, and grassroots campaigns for 20 years. In that time, he has accumulated a record of advancing bipartisan solutions to some of society’s most complex and urgent challenges, including clean energy infrastructure, environmental conservation, LGBTQ freedom, and expanding access to physical and mental health care. James is currently a Principal at Civitas Public Affairs where he leads projects across the firm and serves as a thought leader for clients focused on building right-of-center support for the leading issue of the day. Over his two decades of work, James has founded and led multiple center-right nonprofit endeavors. This includes: founding and serving as the Board Chair for Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) and CRES Forum, organizations building center-right support for climate action and clean energy development; founding and serving as Board President of Centerline, a centrist multi-issue advocacy platform committed to building bipartisan consensus around high-profile public policy challenges; and leading Project Right Side, a center-right organization that provided Republican elected, political, and policy leaders with research aimed at cultivating support for LGBTQ freedom. James received his bachelor’s degree from American University with an academic concentration in political science and international relations. He currently resides in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
