Data that is complete, accurate, valid, and consistent, is existential to the organizational health. I’m the data steward – and trusted business partner - who makes that happen. MY APPROACH TO DATA QUALITY Create mandatory fields to ensure the record provides critical data points. Validate the input to ensure data is within the accepted range of variables. Check data against the source record to ensure the highest level of accuracy. Create one master copy to ensure all updates are propagated universally. MY CAREER PATH I began my career in a multifunctional DBA role responsible for all data-related functions from Storage and Operations, Data Security, Data Modeling, Integration and Interoperability, to Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. Then I transitioned to Software Application Support and more recently to Data Operations Engineer. As the field of data governance evolved, I gained first-hand experience *remediating* data quality issues in analytics and applications data, and now I’m focused on *preventing* these issues from surfacing in the first place.
