Background
About James Duprey
James is a writer, director, and video editor currently creating and advertising new and original digital media content across several online platforms and social media. His love and passion for the written and visual arts is only challenged by his love and passion for pop culture. And Instagram. In such, much of James's work - though not all of it - centers around pop culture outlets such as video games, movies, and music. His work incorporates both scripted and improvisational material. While creating original digital content is a passion for James, and he ultimately wishes to pursue a professional career in entertainment media, James also has a passion for writing and screenwriting. James is formally educated as a writer, having studied both prose writing and dramatic forms (screenwriting, playwriting, and various comic book scripting formats). James also has some formal training and experience with directing and video editing. James has worked with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere, and also has experience with writing programs such as Final Draft and Microsoft Word. James has been recognized for several of his works in writing and video productions. His script,"The Omega Complex Part 1," an original pilot script for a half-hour animated series, achieved finalist status in the 2011 People's Pilot Scriptwriting Competition, a contest hosted and run by Larry Brody. His short films "Shattered in a Heartbeat"(2009) and "Midterm Armageddon"(2009) have both aired on cable access stations across 16 markets as part of the showcase show "Student Short Films." James has also written a one-act play,"The Forgotten Tomorrow," which was directed by Kip Fagan and performed in NYC as part of the Make it Play Senior Showcase 2009: A Night of One-Acts. Currently, James runs and maintains a Video Blogging Channel on YouTube, Channel Metal Geek, where he presents most of his digital media content.
