After years of building web products for my own business and as a contractor, I transitioned into full-time engineering through rigorous training at the Codesmith tech accelerator and contributing to open source projects like RedisHawk. I advanced to Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) at Digicert, specializing in internal UI tools, client platforms, and proprietary component libraries. Subsequently, I contracted as a Senior UI Engineer at Mozilla, where I developed new features and resolved urgent issues for the Monitor security platform. As a former business owner and martial arts instructor with black belts in four disciplines, I deeply value skill mastery through practice and perseverance. Both engineering and martial arts demand continuous learning, growth, and a commitment to overcoming challenges, which have been integral to my professional evolution. Skills: UI engineering since 2009 building websites, SPAs and frontends for large-scale platforms in startup, open-source and enterprise environments. I have worked solo as a contractor as well as a member of teams large (30+) and small (4-8). Full stack experience since 2020, including building the backend of the RedisHawk platform (a product that provides realtime monitoring of Redis instances) in addition to other open-source projects. Experience with frontend technologies include 10+ years working with HTML and CSS, 7+ years with JavaScript, 5+ with React and 3+ with TypeScript. I also have also worked with NextJS, Redux, Redux ToolKit, various styling/component tools such as Sass, Tailwind.CSS, Material UI, Bootstrap, Semantic UI and AntDesign, and testing libraries such as Jest and React Testing Library. Back end technologies include Node/Express and MongoDB. Some exposure to web sockets, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, redis, SQL, Golang and Python. Experience building greenfield products, maintaining/enhancing large, existent code-bases, as well as building web products to client specs. An empathetic team member with excellent proactivity, communication skills and experience with Git, agile methodologies and mentorship.
