Since I instructed my first Outward Bound course in North Carolina at age 19, I have been involved in education, adventure education and schools for thirty-nine years. I have taught upper elementary, middle school and upper school. I have served eighteen years as a Middle School Director and twelve years as a Head of School. I have helped manage two school mergers and have now added Interim Head of School to my list of experiences. I was meant to work with people (young and old) and to prosper the institutions that nurture those students and their families. If I were to win the lottery I would spend my time teaching 8th grade History and climbing mountains.
