About James Evans

I'm an expert in LEAN Manufacturing and I’ve been in the manufacturing industry since working my way up the corporate ladder to become the Operations Manager for a North America branch of an international HVAC manufacturing company, Mobile Climate Control. I managed my plant in Northern Indiana and was responsible for over 100 staff members,$12.4M in inventory, and $65M in sales. In 2016, I planned and executed a flawless plant restructure across 85K sq.ft. that spanned across 3 buildings without interrupting production or on-time delivery and was able to reduce our forklift traffic by 70%. My education includes a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW), with a focus on Systems Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing. From 2015 to 2019, I served as a member of PFW’s Industrial Advisory Board for the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. I received my undergraduate degree from Indiana University South Bend, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Physics (BS Phy) with a minor in Mathematics. My undergraduate research was in nuclear physics constructing and testing one layer of a high-efficiency neutron detector which continues to be used at Michigan State University. At the time, it was the most efficient neutron detector in the world, which was 70% effective (others were 20% effective). Additionally, I have completed courses in Project Management. Most recently, I joined A Real Change Mastermind Group with Sandi Krakowski and John Balauat. I'm currently accepting project-based work as a Consultant.
