About James Geller

It’s been a privilege to spend the last > 20 years of faculty-level experience caring for children, adolescents and young adults [and their families] affected by cancer. Delivering compassionate expert care for those in need has been a source of tremendous fulfillment. Concurrently, I’ve savored the opportunities to serve as a leader of multidisciplinary oncology focused clinical research programs institutionally at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (Director of the Liver and Renal Tumor programs, co-Director of the Retinoblastoma Program, Director of the CCHMC CTSA (CCTST) Translational Research Pilot Grant Program, Founder/Chair of the Translocation Renal Cell Carcinoma International Registry, Founder/Chair of the Relapsed/Refractory Hepatoblastoma Registry, Institutional Principal Investigator for the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Phase 1 Consortium, etc) and nationally as the immediate past-Chair of the COG Renal Tumor Committee (previously functioning as the Lead for the Renal Committee Developmental Therapeutics efforts for nearly a decade). In the process, I’ve had the opportunity to publish > 170 peer-reviewed journal articles and serve on numerous institutional, national and international committees not limited to the national Pediatric Preclinical Testing Program advisory committee, liaison to Pediatric Match, multiple Foundation Medical Advisory Boards, etc, and generated extensive experience writing, conducting, chairing, sponsoring and overseeing phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3 trials through institutional (grant and pharma sponsored) investigator-initiated trials, multi-institutional trials and through the Children’s Oncology Group cooperative group. Interacting with colleagues around the globe, inclusive of pharmaceutical companies and regulatory bodies such as the FDA and NCI/CTEP has been and continues to be a productive and enjoyable application of my experiences.
