About James Gildard

I am a data analyst with experience at Volkswagen Group of America, an automotive manufacturer, and Chattanooga Sports Ministries, a non-profit working with at-risk, inner-city youth. I am also a translator with experience in technical, video, and post-machine editing translation. I have worked on projects for The Chalmers Center, an international non-profit, and Translate.com, an online technical translation platform. I adapt well to new environments and enjoy working with people from varied backgrounds. Growing up overseas, I went to school with students from a number of different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Furthermore, I have acclimated to living in the United States and learning its culture, while adjusting to the demands of work and college. I work well in either a team context or in self-supervised work. Hard work does not intimidate me. I worked full time as an intern at Volkswagen while finishing my Economics degree. I am currently finishing a bachelor’s degree in French as a part time student, while working several different jobs. As a college Economics and French double major, I have studied business and languages. While having some real world experience in both of these fields, I am seeking to learn more. Having grown up in France and Senegal as well as having spent time living in Germany, I have a strong interest in all aspects of the international business world.
