About James Gorman

NOTICE: After spending the last 2 1/2 years working in semiconductor manufacturing, I've come to the conclusion that I would much prefer working in a different industry/setting. I am not seeking employment in that line of work, or in anything involving 12 hour shifts, thank you. I'm a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force, where I worked as a Comm/Navigation Mission Systems Avionics Technician. Over those years, I was tasked with maintaining aircraft computational systems, radios, radar, visual/video sensors, and numerous other navigational systems and their associated equipment and wiring. For three and half years I also served as an instructor, training airmen on the basics of flightline maintenance. I also oversaw a flightline CTK for two years, as well as serving as element lead for my Comm/Nav Mission Systems shop for my last 4 years. Upon retiring in 2013, I chose to attend school full-time, pursuing and earning a degree in graphic design/digital art. Yeah it's a weird segue, but years of dealing with the tempo and noise level of flightline maintenance pushed me to broaden my skillset, and I love art. I'm currently seeking employment, preferably in electronics and/or avionics troubleshooting and repair, although I'd love any opportunities involving entry-level graphic design positions.
