About James Greer
My name is James Greer! I grew up all over the world and after high school, did much more traveling whilst still in the military. I've been out of the military since 2016 and have, admittedly, struggled to find out exactly what I wanted to do career-wise. It wasn't until about a year and a half ago when I first moved back to Kansas from Northern Virginia, did I find myself in the food service industry for the very first time in a pub kitchen. After a few short months, I began to really excel and yearn to learn more in the culinary field. Thus, I was fired for looking for a better job. Printing off my resume in the bar's office wasn't the brightest idea after all. Live and learn! My searches landed me in a small scratch kitchen called Todd Brians Birck street Cafe. I had learned a vast amount from this kitchen before I started to attend Butler Community College in pursuit of a Culinary Arts Degree. During this time at college, I was offered a full-time kitchen managers position provided I drop out of college to make more time for Todd Brians. After accepting some much-needed advice from my college chefs, I decided to put in my two weeks notice and begin anew at Siena Tuscany Steak House with recommendations from my college chefs. I was taught to work garde manger and excelled in a nominal fashion for 7 months. As the back of house got more turbulent with staffing, I have recently elected to start my search of a better mentor! I am eager to learn new techniques, if possible in the French cuisine. Most importantly, I'd love to work in a positive environment in which I can make delicious foods as it is most certainly a passion.
