About James Gregory

I love to develop strategic partnerships to support and empower community sports organisations in London, Kent, Sussex & Milton Keynes to provide high quality informal sports and physical activity opportunities for young people living in underserved communities to help them become healthier, safer & more successful. I'm very passionate about tackling the inequality of opportunity that exists so we can get more people who face traditional barriers to be more active more often to increase their quality of life! I've had 10 years experience of working within local authority on sport, leisure, public health & community development strategies, policies and interventions. This included driving a cluster of other stakeholders to collaborate for greater effectiveness & sustainability of impact. I've also have another 10 years experience of working for leading national charity StreetGames to help eliminate the effects poverty has on sports participation, activity levels and in turn the quality of life of children and young people. The best part of this role is unlocking investment & strategic support for community sport & wellbeing programmes to be delivered & sustained in some of the most underserved communities across London & South East. I also love working directly with groups of young people & volunteers (through tutoring and delivering workforce development programmes) who want to be leaders in their own communities to make life better for others as well as themselves. I have 20 years experience across the UK & Europe of utilising the power of sport and physical activity to tackle social agendas such as employability, youth crime & mental health.
