About James Haug

Dr. James C. Haug is a Professor of Management at Longwood University’s College of Business and Economics, Farmville, VA. From 2002 to 2007, he served as an Organizational Business Analyst and Contracts subject matter expert with Quality Technical Services, Inc, Virginia Beach, VA. From 1991 to 2001, Dr. Haug was a tenured Associate Professor for Troy University, teaching in both the Atlantic and Florida regions. He was the program manager for the Master of Science in Management degree, and also taught over 200 graduate level courses in the MBA, MSHRM and MPA programs. During his twenty year career in the U.S. Navy, he served as the Director of the Contracts Group and Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Navy Public Works Center, Pensacola, FL, where he managed the solicitation, award, and administration of construction, repair, maintenance, equipment installation, planning and design work valued at over $35 million per year. Dr. Haug holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Management Engineering from Columbia University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Doctor of Business Administration from George Washington University, Washington, DC. He is professionally registered in California as a Manufacturing Engineer. Research interests include collaborative teams and workplaces; fitness and leadership relationship; motivation and retention issues in non-profit organizations; and effectiveness measurement within hospital settings. He is a founding board member of the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Logistics Systems ( ).
