About James Hunter

Currently, I am involved in research into HIV, especially finding a cure for this virus and its associated diseases as a member of the team at the Retrovirology Laboratory of the Paulista School of Medicine of the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). I provide statistical and bioinformatics support to the team of researchers who represent a broad range of medical research skills. I also perform similar functions for CorpoRx, Inc, a private medical research company, based in Florida and São Paulo, Brazil, which focuses on meaningful novel drugs for the eradication of chronic viral and microbial infections. I also teach courses in data science, mixing computer programming and statistics for the Discipline of Infectious Diseases at UNIFESP. Before joining UNIFESP, I taught courses focused on quantitative methods and strategy for a number of MBA programs in São Paulo for over a decade. Previously, I worked as a consultant for more than 20 years, planning and managing projects for existing businesses, assisting start-ups to structure themselves and arrange financing, advising real estate developers and planning and executing risk management strategies, My work has primarily been located in the United States and Brazil.
