James Hurley is an associate vice president with Rice University's advancement division (i.e, Development and Alumni Relations), where he leads the alumni relations team. He was previously an assistant vice president at Rice. Prior to joining Rice, James served as a Senior Director with NYU's Advancement division with management and oversight for alumni relations activities across NYU's global network (i.e, New York, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai). Prior to joining NYU, James was a consultant at EAB. In this capacity, he managed and conducted research related to fundraising in higher education. James was the first recipient of the US-UK Fulbright Program's joint award with the Northern Ireland Assembly and the Queen’s University of Belfast. James studied at New York University's Stern School of Business, Oxford University, the Queen's University of Belfast, and Iona College.
