About James Jacobs

As a young coach I have obtained a lot of experience both in the UK and America, working with high level teams from u8-u16. My coaching philosophy is purely development based, making sure all sessions are structured, fun and built on high intensity. Technical aspects are my main focus, making sure all players are comfortable on the ball from a young age. All my teams are taught to play out from the back, possess the ball in tight areas and work the ball through the thirds. My keys skills include a fantastic rapour with all players I coach. Players seem to warm to me very well, and want to listen and learn from my session. My personality reflects my work ethic. I am extremely enthusiastic and hard working which keeps both the progression and enjoyment of my players at a high level. If a situation needs a leader I can take control all situations well, however I am also good at working in a group and understanding people’s needs. Personally I feel one of my key attributes is communication. I find it really easy to make conversation and provide clear accurate information, both on and off the coaching field. I like to be well prepared for any situation. This would include organizing an event or a group of people. This therefore would include working under pressure which I thrive on. Throughout my whole life I prefer to be given tasks which are a challenge as this brings out the best in me. I feel this is an extremely important attribute to have because yo will then fulfil your maximal potential.
