About James Lai

Hi! My name is James and I am a senior at Penn State University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Health Policy Administration. I enjoy working in various environments, meeting and working with a multitude of people, and taking advantage of different opportunities to gain experience and learn more. I have had experience interning in administration and IT positions for a residential care facility and multiple major IT companies, and am currently working as a research assistant for the Laboratory for Anxiety & Depression Research here at Penn State. After being born in California, I grew up in Hong Kong and lived there for eighteen years until I decided to move here to the United States to pursue my studies, while also having many experiences of joining foreign exchanges (e.g. a summer program at the University of Cambridge, as well as multiple music tours in North America and Europe). I have had a taste of multiple cultures, so I know the importance of a sense of community and am willing to learn more about cultures and communities. I have an array of interests, and am a quick learner, always willing to learn more to best equip me to succeed in different positions.
